WORKSHOP

Home Strange Home / Virtual Tour

„Home Strange Home“ is a virtual Survival Lounge designed by Eléonore Hayar, Vani Monjaraz and Selen Sönmez as part of the studio „Inhabiting the Survival Lounge“ held at the TU Berlin / Chair for History of Architecture and Urbanism.

Based on readings of Sara Ahmed’s book „Living a feminist life“ the students extracted concepts for a feminist inhabitation and applied them to a digital space.

The „Home Strange Home“ project offers an opportunity to explore the relations we have with our everyday objects, to rethink their meanings and their impacts on our lives through a feminist perspective.

It is developed as a video game to allow interactivity between the space and the people, and give them a role of an actor rather than a visitor.

This “Home Strange Home” will only exist during the WIA festival time. It aims to gather layer of traces of temporary inhabitation through voices, notes, memories, pictures…

The event will take the form of a guided tour to introduce this virtual space and enable you to experience all the possibilities a 3-D Unity model can offer. You will learn how to easily move, jump, dance, and interact with the house and its inhabitants.
